Fields of Study: Scholarships are awarded to learn any of the courses offered by Grenoble INP.

Level (Degree): Scholarships are available for pursuing master degree at Grenoble INP.

Target Applicants: International students can apply for these scholarships (but students from USA, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Australia and New Zealand will have priority).

Eligibility/Requirements: 

-Age : 28 years maximum
-Nationality : All (but students from USA, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Australia and New Zealand will have priority)
-Remarks: All international Master’s programs of Grenoble Institute of Technology are eligible.
-Level: Master > Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. However, direct admission to year 2 is possible for suitably qualified students.
Postmaster > Must have completed a minimum of 5 years at university level.
-Language skills: Programs are taught in English: Non native English speakers have to add an official certification (TOEFL, TOEIC, teacher…).
a-A minimum of TOEFL 79 IBT (or equivalent) is recommended to attend to a program taught in English.
b-The program being fully in English, speaking French is not required, however we strongly recommend that you take a beginners’ class in French before coming to France so that your everyday life in France is made easier.

Title of Programme: Asia Exchange Scholarships for International Students, 2013

Fields of Study: The scholarship is provided to learn any of the available courses at Asian partner universities.

Level (Degree): This scholarship is for pursuing study abroad program in one of Asian partner universities for one semester.

Target Applicants: The Global Health Fellowship Program is one-year clinical research training program for pre- and postdoctoral candidates at one of affiliated international training sites.

Eligibility/Requirements: Asia Exchange scholarships are awarded twice a year for students from our target countries. The target countries at the moment are Austria, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and USA. Study abroad programs represented by Asia Exchange are also meant for students who are not currently enrolled at an institution of higher education. AE study programs are open to anyone, who is at least 18 years old and has completed high school or similar. (The only exception is a Kasetsart University in Bangkok, which requires students to be enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of the exchange.)

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. A one page Statement of Purpose and a Transcript of Records are required as attachments.

CIHR Fellowship Program for Canadian and International Students, 2014

Host/Provider: The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)

Fields of Study:  CIHR categorizes health research in four broad themes: Biomedical Research; Clinical Research; Health Services Research; Social, Cultural, Environmental and Population Health Research.

Course Level: Fellowships provide support for highly qualified candidates in all areas of health research at the post-PhD or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research either in Canada or abroad.

Level (Degree): Fellowships provide support for highly qualified candidates in all areas of health research at the post-PhD or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research either in Canada or abroad.

Target Applicants: Canadian and international students can apply for the fellowships.

Eligibility/Requirements: -As the Nominated Principal Applicant, you must be a trainee and meet the minimum commitment of 75% of your time (minimum of 30 hours per week) in the research fellowship role proposed in the application.
-A primary supervisor must be identified on the application. An additional supervisor may be identified.
-At the time of application, you must hold or be completing, a PhD or a regulated health professional degree. You must expect to complete all of the requirements of your doctoral or Health Professional degree by the latest possible date on which you can take up your award (see Effective Dates). To determine if a particular health profession is eligible, please consult the list of Eligible Health Professions.
-Candidates who have obtained a doctorate degree (course-based or research-based) more than three years prior to the competition deadline are not eligible (Exceptionally, for this competition, candidate eligibility will be calculated in date of October 1, 2013). Interruptions, delays or post-degree clinical training in your post-PhD cumulative experience may be taken into account in determining eligibility if detailed information on the interruption, including specific dates, is provided. Valid interruptions include child rearing, illness, or health-related family responsibilities or, for health professionals only, engagement in post-degree non-research related clinical training (residency, etc.) and for up to 2 years only. CIHR uses the date of degree completion to determine applicant eligibility. This is the date on which all requirements of your degree have been met, including successful defense and submission of the corrected copy of your thesis.
-The program is open to both Canadians and citizens of other countries.
-These awards are normally held at Canadian institutions. However, Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eligible to hold their awards outside Canada. Candidates, who are neither Canadian citizens nor permanent residents of Canada, are eligible for awards to be held in Canada only.
-A recipient of a Doctoral Award with a health professional degree may apply for the Fellowship funding opportunity no earlier than during the last year of their award.
-Individuals eligible to apply to the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program or the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program may also submit an application to the CIHR Fellowship programs

2014 Summer Program for Canadian Graduate Students in Taiwan

Title of Programme: 2014 Summer Program for Canadian Graduate Students in Taiwan

Host/Provider: This program is co-sponsored the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Genetics (CIHR-IG) and the Department of International Cooperation of the National Science Council (NSC-DOIC) in Taiwan, with the assistance of the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in coordinating the orientation, arranging language courses and in helping participants move to individual universities or research institutes.

Fields of Study: Awards are provided in the field of health research (i.e. biomedical, clinical, health systems services, social cultural, environmental and population health) offered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Genetics (CIHR-IG). 

Level (Degree): The awards are available for pursuing graduate (master’s or doctoral) degree level.

Target Applicants: The students of Canada can apply for these awards.

Eligibility/Requirements: Eligibility criteria for all CIHR research funding programs apply. The business office of the institution of an eligible Nominated Principal Applicant generally administers CIHR funds. Please refer to the Eligibility Requirements for CIHR Grants and Awards regarding the eligibility requirements for individuals and institutions. To be eligible for the Summer Program in Taiwan, at the time of application, candidates must:
-be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
-be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at a Canadian institution;
-be pursuing studies in fields that are supported by the mandate of CIHR and that are represented within the potential host institution in Taiwan; and
-have received, advance acceptance/invitation from a potential host researcher in Taiwan.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is by post or email. A complete application consists of:
-Common CV Module (validated for CIHR) for the candidate
-Official graduate transcripts
-Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
-Reference/recommendation letter from the candidate’s current supervisor
-Reference/recommendation letter from a previous supervisor (if applicable)
-An official letter of advance acceptance/invitation from the host researcher(s) in Taiwan. Letters of advance acceptance/invitation must include the host researcher’s name, division, institution, and email address
-Research Proposal Summary: Describe the proposed research and/or activities that will contribute to increasing collaborative research and exchanges between Canada and Taiwan, in particular: (i) the fit between the candidate’s current research program and the proposed summer project; and (ii) the possibility for future novel collaborative efforts following the summer program between the research environments in Canada and Taiwan. Summaries must: (i) not exceed two pages in length, (ii) include the title, and (iii) be signed by the candidate and the current supervisor

Fields of Study:  The program is designed to encourage research and promote the study of cultural, political, historical, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary German affairs from an inter- and multidisciplinary perspective.

Level (Degree): The grants are awarded to highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students for short-term research (one to two months) in Germany or – in exceptional cases – North America.

Target Applicants: Citizens of the USA and Canada are eligible for this research grant.

Eligibility/Requirements: -PhD students in the humanities and social science disciplines in the process of preparing their dissertation proposals on modern German topics may be nominated for the grant by their department and/or principal adviser.
-Students whose dissertation proposals have already been formally accepted are not eligible for nomination.
-The intent of the program is to provide an opportunity for short-term exploratory research to determine the viability or to delimit the scope of their proposed dissertations.
-The program is not intended to supplement or substitute for regular dissertation field work abroad which should lag the short-term research stay by at least one semester.
-Applicants are expected to have completed two years of college-level German language studies and a minimum of three courses in German Studies (literature, history, politics or other fields) at the time of nomination.

Title of Programme: Berlin Program Fellowships for US and Canadian Citizens in Germany, 2014

Host/Provider: Free University of Berlin

Fields of Study: The program offers fellowships to scholars in all social science and humanities disciplines, including historians working on German and European history since the mid-18th century for a research period in Berlin of between 10-12 months.

Level (Degree):The Berlin Program Fellowships are awarded for doctoral dissertation research as well as postdoctoral research at the Free University of Berlin.

Target Applicants: Students of USA and Canada can apply for the fellowship.

Eligibility/Requirements: The program accepts applications from U.S. and Canadian nationals, permanent and long-term residents. Applicants for a dissertation fellowship must be full-time graduate students at a North American university who have completed all coursework required for the Ph.D. and must have achieved ABD (all but dissertation) status by the time of proposed research stay in Berlin begins. Also eligible are U.S. and Canadian Ph.D.s who have received their doctorates within the past two calendar years.
