Host/Provider: CIMI LabEx (CIMI (International Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science ) in Toulouse

Fields of Study: Fellowships are provided in the field of mathematics or computer science at Mathematics Institute of Toulouse (IMT) and the Institute for Research in Computer Science of Toulouse (IRIT).

Level (Degree):  Fellowships are available for pursuing postdoctoral degree level at Mathematics Institute of Toulouse (IMT) and the Institute for Research in Computer Science of Toulouse (IRIT).

Target Applicants: France and Foreign Students can apply for these Postdoctoral Fellowships.

Eligibility/Requirements: Positions are open to holders of a doctorate in mathematics or computer science obtained in France or in a foreign country. Offers are not theme-based and all mathematical and computer science disciplines are welcome. The selection will be based on excellence in scientific accomplishment and the quality of the scientific project. Interactions between mathematics and computer science will be closely examined.

Fields of Study: The project aims at understanding how the extracellular matrix (ECM) regulates receptor trafficking in basal conditions and during synaptic plasticity.

Level (Degree):  Position is open for a PhD research program at the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS).

Target Applicants: The researcher may be of any nationality.

Eligibility/Requirements: Eligible to enroll in the PhD programme are candidates holding a Master’s Degree or equivalent and fulfilling the following criteria for eligibility of the researcher(s): To be eligible, each researcher must simultaneously fulfill the following criteria at the time of recruitment by the beneficiary concerned in the frame of this project.
(a) Nationality: The researcher may be of any nationality.
(b) Mobility: At the time of recruitment by the beneficiary, the researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc…) in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment under the project. Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.
-As far as international European interest organisations or international organisations are concerned, this rule does not apply to the hosting of eligible researchers, however, the appointed researcher must not have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment by the beneficiary in the same recruiting organisation.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. Candidates submit the required documents on-line, selecting research projects of interest to them. Candidates can apply for one, two or three projects by marking their first, second and third choice. The following documents should be submitted on-line by November 15:
-application (including a motivational letter), download here, should be scanned and submitted on line
-copy of higher education diploma or equivalent or a certificate of graduation. Candidates entering the competition prior to the official date of their graduation if admitted must submit the missing documents before the start of the PhD programme.
-list of completed subjects and grades achieved in the course of the MS programme (a personal mean and the maximally possible score/grade should be indicated),
-curriculum vitae stating education completed to date and a brief description of scientific achievements and a list of publications.
A researcher (with at least PhD/MD degree) familiar with the scientific activities of the candidate (e.g. advisor of MS thesis) is supposed to send an opinion about candidate to the following e-mail address: Ms. Karen Mueller-Zabel, Karen.Mueller-Zabel-at-dzne.de

Fields of Study: The fellowship is awarded in the area of new technologies, including ICTs in the context of new technologies for Development.

Level (Degree): This fellowship is for pursuing research programme.

Target Applicants: Research fellowship is open only to nationals of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa member states (Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Leone, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, The D.R Congo, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe).

Eligibility/Requirements: 1. It is open only to nationals of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa member states
2. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of USD 3,000. Fellows will be provided with a return air ticket between his/her country of residence and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
3. The fellowship may be extended subject to the availability of funds and based on satisfactory performance 4. Fellows cannot be employed on ECA or United Nations regular positions within six months of completion of a fellowship period.
5. Fellows will have the opportunity to interact with Commission staff and gain exposure to the Commission’s cutting edge research on a variety of leading issues in African development;
6. Fellows will work on a predefined project, designed to contribute to specific aspects of the work programme of the receiving section, the New Technologies and Innovation Section (NTIS). Terms of Reference for each fellowship assignment will be designed to guide the recruitment process. -Advanced university degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) in economics, sociology, management of technology, technology and innovation policy, natural sciences, engineering, statistics, economic anthropology, sociology or a related field, is required. A Ph.D. would be an advantage.
Work Experience -Experience in research/analytical work in technology and innovation for development-related areas in the context of Africa, either in the academia or in private, public or civil society organizations, is required.
-Experience in undertaking impact assessment, cost benefit analysis, or cost effectiveness analysis of policies, strategies and plans, is an advantage.
-Experience in working with African institutions at national, sub-regional or regional level is an advantage. Language
-Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French, (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
-Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Host/Provider: Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS)

Fields of Study: The Fellowship programme 2014-2015 is dedicated to projects investigating the following issues: Gender – Technology–Environment, Life Sciences/Biotechnology, Sustainable and Innovative Public Procurement & Ecodesign, Towards Low-Carbon Energy Systems and Sustainable Food Systems.

Level (Degree): The Institute for Advanced Studies offers an international Research Fellowship (up to nine months’ stay) and Visiting Scholarship (around one month’s stay) at the IAS-STS.

Target Applicants: International researchers can apply for these fellowships.

Eligibility/Requirements: The IAS-STS is directed towards young scientists as well as senior scholars wishing to conduct research into the interrelationship between science, technology and society. Eligible candidates must have completed university or college studies. Preference is given to Fellowship applicants working on their dissertation or postdoctoral thesis. The IAS-STS is open to participants from all countries of origin and academic positions. In order to ensure an interdisciplinary structure and a wide variety of research methods, the Institute endeavours to appoint Research Fellows and Visiting Scholars from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds. Moreover, the IAS-STS aims to appoint an equal number of male and female researchers.

Eligibility/Requirements: University of Ballarat Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UBPRS) are open to graduates who have completed a four year undergraduate degree at first class Honours (or have other qualifications such as a Masters degree or experience in research that lead the Research and Higher Degrees Committee to evaluate the applicant as being equivalent to first class Honours standard). Awards are restricted to Australian citizens, persons with permanent resident status and applicants eligible to be awarded an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship in December each year by UB. The RHDSC (Research Higher Degree Sub-Committee) is the committee responsible for the review & awarding of scholarships at the University of Ballarat.

How to Apply: The applicants can apply electronically. All persons (including current UB candidates) must lodge the Scholarships Expression of Interest form in order to be considered for award of a scholarship.
